It's Halloween weekend! From the last night of the haunted straw maze to a candy and wine showdown, here are the best things to do in and around Nampa from October 30 to November 1.
Friday looks like the best night to be outside, with a high near 59°F and partly cloudy skies. Saturday cools to about 53°F with a slight chance of rain, so trick-or-treaters should bundle up. Sunday stays around 53°F with a few showers possible, which makes it a good day for something indoors. Nights drop into the low 30s all weekend.
We always start with Nampa first, but we'll also include nearby Treasure Valley events when they are unique, close by, or worth the short drive.

Where: Fujishin Estate Winery, 17543 Allendale Rd., Wilder, and Free Dog Wines, 15593 Sunnyslope Rd., Caldwell
Two local wineries go head to head to see who makes the best Halloween candy and wine pairing. Try both, vote for your favorite, and you'll be entered to win wine from both wineries. Regular tasting fees may apply.
When: Friday, Oct. 30, 5–7PM
Where: Shindig Farms, Highway 45 and Scism Rd., Nampa
Decorated cars, Halloween treats and costumes, all for free. It's a great pick for little ones who want the fun of Halloween without the scares of the haunted maze later that night.
When: Friday, Oct. 30, 6:30PM and 8:45PM
Where: The Egyptian Theatre, 700 W. Main St., Boise
Spooky Halloween music played live inside the historic Egyptian Theatre, lit by hundreds of candles. The show runs about an hour, so it's easy to pair with dinner downtown. Tickets start at $35.50 plus fees.
When: Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30–31, 7–11PM (last entry 9PM)
Where: Old Idaho Penitentiary, 2445 Old Penitentiary Rd., Boise
Explore a real old prison after dark, with haunted cell blocks, a haunted infirmary, spooky shows, food trucks and live entertainment. Friday is best for ages 13 and up with an adult. Saturday is 18+ only. Tickets are $30.
When: Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30–31, starting at 8PM
Where: Shindig Farms, Highway 45 and Scism Rd., Nampa
Last call! This is the final weekend for the haunted maze, with fog, dark paths and live actors waiting around every corner. Haunted admission is $25, or $15 for regular farm fun earlier in the day. No kids under 8 in the haunted maze.
When: Saturday, Oct. 31, 9AM–1:30PM
Where: Lloyd Square, Downtown Nampa
Start Halloween with fall produce, baked treats and handmade gifts from local growers and makers. This is the last Saturday on regular market hours before the winter schedule starts in November. Free to attend.
When: Sunday, Nov. 1 (check the listing for class time)
Where: Indian Creek Winery, 1000 N. McDermott Rd., Kuna
Wrap up the weekend with a hands-on craft and a glass of wine. It's a cozy, quiet break from the Halloween crowds, and a perfect plan if Sunday's showers show up. Registration is required.

Friday: Hit the candy and wine pairing in Sunnyslope during the day. Take the little ones to Trunk or Treat at Shindig Farms, or grab dinner in Boise and catch Candlelight: Halloween Classics.
Saturday: Start at the Nampa Farmers Market. After trick-or-treating, pick your scare: the final night of the Haunted Straw Maze or adult night at the Old Idaho Penitentiary.
Sunday: Keep it low-key with Wino Arts 'N Crafts at Indian Creek Winery, especially if the rain rolls in.
